31 New Reserve Officers Completed Training

Hennepin County recognized 31 new reserve officers from 13 different law enforcement agencies as the finished training Wed., May 25.

The reserve officers trained for 10 weeks learning about traffic direction, crime scene response and radio communication.

Fishing Fun for Kids

It's officially fishing season in Minnesota. So why not get the youngsters out and teach them how to cast a line this year?

Kids can learn about fishing in Centennial Lakes Park. All you have to do is sign up for one of the three fishing clinics this summer.

Kids 6 and older can learn about the art of angling at Centennial Lakes Park fishing clinics.

It's shaping up to be a colder than average spring.

5 EYEWITNESS NEWS Meteorologist Patrick Hammer says we should stay in the 60's for the next several days. Tuesday will be partly cloudy with temperatures around 68 degrees.

A little light rain could be on the way for Wednesday. North of the Twin Cities should stay dry.

Hennepin Co. Blood Drives in June

Memorial Blood Centers is teaming up with area businesses and local organizations to sponsor blood drives through June. People 17 years or older (16 with parental permission), in good health, and free of antibiotics for 24 hours, are invited to attend. The need is greater than ever; every two seconds, someone needs blood.
