'Days of Remembrance'

To honor the victims of the Holocaust and continue to advance human rights and relations, the Edina City Council has declared the week of April 7-14 as "Days of Remembrance" in the community.

The City Council approved a proclamation in 2012 regarding the Days of Remembrance which reads:

Best Buy Announces Locations for Store Closures

Best Buy has announced the locations of 50 stores that it is closing this year. The list includes seven stores in California, six in Illinois and six in the company's home state of Minnesota.

MN College Job Outlook Survey Offers Optimism

The Minnesota College Job Outlook survey has been released and shows more optimism for college graduates in 2013.

The survey is conducted by the St. Cloud State Career Services Center and looks at employers recruiting new college graduates in Minnesota. The university says 111 businesses who attended job fairs in 2012 participated in the survey.

Apartments at Southdale Center

How would you like to live at the mall? You can -- sort of. There's a plan to build 232 luxury apartments at Southdale Center in Edina. The three residential buildings will be located at the northwest corner of the intersection of West 69th Street and York Avenue South.

Housing Market Improves

Local realtors say the housing market continues to improve.

The Minneapolis Area Association of Realtors says in November the median sales price for a home in the metro was $173,000 dollars. That's up almost 17% from last November. We're still short of the peak home prices though. In June of 2006 the median was $238,000.

2nd Annual Sip & Shop

How about getting a little holiday shopping done and supporting a good cause at the same time? This Tuesday is the 2nd Annual Holiday Sip & Shop at Pinstripes in Edina benefiting Gigi's Playhouse. It'll be held from 5-8pm. More than 25 vendors will be on hand. You'll find everything from unique gifts, to sweet treats and holiday wines and hors d'ouvers.
