A Stretch of West 78th in Edina to Close Saturday | Transportation

If you're planning to drive in the area of Interstate 494 and 169 Saturday (April 21st), you may be in for a detour.  The Minnesota Department of Transportation (MnDOT) will shut down a stretch of West 78th Street.

A City of Edina spokesperson tells KSTP.COM that West 78th between West Bush Lake Road and the Braemar Office Park will close at 7 a.m..

"Access to businesses on West 78th Street will only be available from Valley View Road," said the spokesperson.

A MnDOT spokerson said the closure is connected to the reconfiguring of the 494/169 interchange.  Crews will be working on curbs and gutters along West 78th.

The road should be back open by 7 p.m..
